Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

FocusRabbit is an independently developed iOS app published under the FocusRabbit name. In this policy, “FocusRabbit,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the app’s publisher. You can contact us at focusrabbit.support@gmail.com.

2. The short version

• The app has no user account and no developer operated backend.
• The app does not contain advertising or third party analytics.
• Your detailed Screen Time information and app selections stay on your device and are not sent to us.
• If you email support, we receive the information you choose to send.
• Our website host may process basic request information to deliver and secure this website.

3. Information processed by the app

FocusRabbit uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks. With your permission, these tools let the app apply blocks and limits and display Screen Time reports.

The following information may be stored locally on your device:

• The apps and categories you choose to block, limit, allow, or omit from reports. Apple provides these selections to the app as protected tokens.
• Your block schedules, active sessions, time limits, open limits, focus streaks, notification preferences, and other settings.
• Onboarding choices such as the name you enter, age range, goal, estimated Screen Time, and the kind of help you select.
• Local state needed to keep blocks and limits working.

This information is stored in the app’s local iOS storage and App Group container so the main app and its Screen Time extensions can work together. It is not uploaded to us.

4. Screen Time information

Detailed Screen Time information, including app usage, pickups, and notification totals, is processed inside Apple’s Device Activity Report extension. The extension renders those reports on your device. Apple’s sandbox prevents the extension from exporting the underlying Screen Time data to the main app, shared storage, or our servers. We do not receive or view that detailed information.

5. Permissions and notifications

FocusRabbit asks for Screen Time permission because its blocking, limits, and report features depend on Apple’s Screen Time frameworks. If you enable notifications, the app may schedule reminders locally on your device. You can change notification permission in iOS Settings.

You can revoke Screen Time access or use Reset Account in FocusRabbit to stop monitoring, remove local settings, clear notifications, and return the app to its first launch state. Despite the button’s name, FocusRabbit does not create an online account.

6. Information that may reach us

Support messages

If you email focusrabbit.support@gmail.com, we receive your email address, message, attachments, and any technical details you choose to include. Support email is delivered and stored using Gmail, a service provided by Google. Google processes information involved in providing Gmail under its Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We use support correspondence only to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and maintain records reasonably needed for support.

Apple diagnostics

Apple may provide developers with crash reports or diagnostics when you have chosen to share analytics with app developers through iOS. Apple controls that collection and sharing. We use any reports Apple makes available only to diagnose and improve FocusRabbit.

Website delivery

This website has no sign in, advertising, contact form, or product analytics. Our hosting infrastructure may temporarily process standard request information, such as your IP address, browser type, requested page, and request time, to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep it secure. We do not use this information to build advertising profiles.

7. Sharing and sale

We do not sell personal information. We do not share app data with advertisers or data brokers. Google processes support correspondence as the provider of Gmail. Standard website request information may be processed by infrastructure providers acting on our behalf, and we may disclose information if required by law or necessary to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.

8. Retention and deletion

Local app information remains on your device until you reset the app, remove it, or iOS removes its storage. Support emails are retained in Gmail only as long as reasonably needed to answer your request, maintain support history, comply with legal duties, or resolve disputes. Google controls service level storage and deletion under its own policies. Website infrastructure records are retained according to the security and operational settings of our hosting providers.

Because FocusRabbit has no server account or app database, we generally do not hold app data that can be accessed, exported, or deleted on your behalf. You can clear local app data with Reset Account. For information you sent through support, email us to request access or deletion.

9. Children

The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. A child who wants to contact support should do so with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child sent personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Security and international processing

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the limited information we handle. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. If you contact support or visit the website, infrastructure providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information we hold about you. These may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or a right to complain to a data protection authority. Contact us to make a request. We may need enough information to verify and respond to it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when FocusRabbit, the website, or legal requirements change. We will post the new policy here and update the effective date. If a future app feature sends new categories of data off your device, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy information before that feature is released.
